Reservation可以用在預約像是餐廳、機票或是電影院等等的地方，在餐廳預定一個table(桌)，而在電影院或是飛機上就會用到seat(座位)。
I would like to make a reservation.
我想要訂預約。
I would like to make a table reservation for two people for nine o’clock.
我想要預定一桌九點的位子給兩個人。
If you get there early, reserve a seat for me.
如果你提早到那邊，幫我預定一個座位。
預約(和某人見面)
– a formal arrangement to meet or visit someone at a particular time and place.
appointment是使用在跟某人見面，像是doctor、lawyer、manager等等。

我想要預約Evans醫生，謝謝。
She had to cancel her dental appointment.
她必須要取消她跟牙醫的預約。
I have a four o’clock appointment at the hairdresser’s.
